FAQs

Q: Does the Rider Golf Bag Mount work with any electric scooter?

A: The default one works only with scooters whose structural member joining the deck to the steering is less than 13 cm in width and has parallel, plane and vertical surfaces on each side - Parallel Flat Rider Golf Bag Mount. But there are other options as well as seen on our buy page. Furthermore, there is a customized option as well if none of those work!

Q: Aren't the tires too narrow for a golf course?

A: Depends on the golf course. 2 inch tire width ones are mostly for the cart path and drier courses, as the ground is never soft enough for your scooter tires to leave a mark on the turf. 4 inch tire width ones can be used anywhere a golf cart goes.

Q: Would my electric scooter battery last the 18 holes?

A: It depends on your scooter and the type of terrain. For reference, a very basic scooter that we tested (retails at less than USD 400) that has a 36V 5.2aH battery lasted right up to the 18th hole with few cart paths on a relatively flat course for a 150 pound golfer.

Q: How do I prevent my scooter kick stand from digging into the fairway grass?

A: Please contact us for a shoe for your kick stand. See below.

Q: What kind of golf bags would work with the Rider Golf Bag Mount?

A: We have tested with cart and stand bags, and in general, cart bags work better than stand bags as most cart bags have a rigid connection between the top of the golf bag and the bottom, unlike most stand bags. So, the top could sway on turns. One option to minimize the swaying would be to pass the Velcro strap through the collar on the top of most stand bags to keep it tightly held close to the steering column. Below is a photo that shows an example. Do not use the regular handle for securing stand bags.

If you have a staff bag, please let us know and we can customize the bracket for you at no additional charge!

Q: My deck space is limited, so adding a bag could limit how I place my feet. How do we work around that?

A: Contact us for the space saver mount option. Basically, that allows you to mount your golf bag in a side ways fashion, so the bag occupies less space on the deck freeing up space for your feet. Below is an illustration with the space saver option on the right.

Q: Wouldn't there be courses that won't allow an electric scooter?

A: Yes there will be, just like there will be courses that are ride-only. But in general if a golf course allows golfers to have their own transportation (not rented from the course), then they will allow this as well. Best option is to ask your local course. We have found that if you bring the scooter to the golf course and let them see it, most would not have an issue. Tire width also plays a role so it is a good idea to stay on the cart path if your scooter width is about 2 inches and the course is not the dry kind.

Q: What if my course requires liability insurance?

A: Contact your existing home insurance provider. Some may already cover operating an electric scooter.

Q: Where do I keep my beer?

A: Bad idea.
